Dolphin Wild Supports Sustainability

Welcome to Dolphin Wild’s Sustainable Tourism Experience on Moreton Island!

Our mission is to provide unforgettable, eco friendly experiences that connect families to the wonders of Moreton Island’s marine life, fostering a deep appreciation for the environment.

Dolphin Wild is committed to providing an eco-friendly adventure that goes beyond the typical tourist experience. As a small boat tour company, we recognize the significance of preserving Moreton Island’s natural beauty for future generations. Here’s how we are contributing to sustainable tourism:

1. Educational Cruises:

Our tours are more than just scenic trips. We offer educational cruises that delve into the rich history and ecology of Moreton Island. By fostering a deeper connection to the environment, we aim to inspire our guests to become advocates for conservation.

2. Snorkel Tours:

Immerse yourself in the wonders of Moreton Island’s marine life through our guided snorkel tours. We prioritize responsible snorkeling practices to protect the delicate underwater ecosystem, ensuring minimal impact on the coral reefs and marine creatures. These include small snorkel groups, guided by our experienced and knowledgeable crew.

3. Sustainability Initiatives:

   – Local Sourcing: We support local businesses by sourcing our products and services within the community, contributing to the region’s economic sustainability.
   – Recyclable and Reusable:
Our commitment to reducing waste includes a redesigned bar menu, providing recyclable and reusable beverage cans, eliminating single-use plastic bottles, a strict waste management system onboard and ensuring no waste is left on Moreton Island.
   – Refillable Water Jug:
Guests are encouraged to refill their water bottles from our onboard water cooler, sourced from a local indigenous owned company Waddi Springs, reducing the need for disposable plastic bottles during the tour.
   – Small Tour Groups:
We keep our tour groups small to minimize our environmental footprint and ensure an intimate, personalised experience for our guests.
   – Educational Talks: Throughout the journey, our knowledgeable guides provide informative talks about the island’s ecosystem, conservation efforts, and the importance of sustainable tourism.

4. Community Engagement:

We actively engage with the local community to foster a sense of responsibility and collaboration in preserving Moreton Island. This includes working closely with Parks and Forest, supporting conservation projects, and promoting environmental awareness.

5. Continuous Improvement:

We are committed to constantly reassessing and improving our sustainability practices. Regular evaluations ensure that we stay aligned with the latest eco-friendly technologies and practices in the tourism industry. We are currently applying for EcoTourism Australia certification, which we feel is an important step for our business.
